MFast is an analytical 2D fracturing simulator for GDK, PKN and
ellipsoidal geometries. This model is based on geometric coefficients given
in SPE 15240 by Bruce Meyer. The methodology used in MFast is similar
to a lumped analogy (i.e. uses constant coefficients derived from the
numerical simulator MFrac from steady boundary conditions in a homogeneous
formation). The main utility of this program is in performing parametric
and model comparison studies quickly. MFast is simple to use with limited
input.
Features
- Fast overview of 2D geometry models
- 2D model comparisons and behavior
- Ease of performing simple parametric studies
- Tool for learning fracturing with limited input
- Multiple fracture characteristics plots
- Job scaling—input fracture length or volume
